We began the work at Red Rock early in 2003. The folks at Chapel Hill got involved in some wonderful projects. They remodeled their building. They are doing very well. Though I missed them very much, I was happy to see them growing! We promised to keep in touch and get together often. We do touch each other once in a while, but getting together was far more difficult than we had thought. That is the nature of change. If everything could be the same after the change, then it wouldn't be change!
Change is difficult. Change can make us very afraid. It can be so fearful that many decide not to make the change at all! If we are going to grow, if we are going to follow a course, if we are going to answer a call ... we must be willing to change! Some of the change will break our hearts, but if the change is the right thing to do ... most of the change will bless our lives. Can you imagine how Jesus' disciples felt when he told them in Matthew 16:24 "... If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." What are we willing to change in order to follow Jesus?
