The Wonderful World of Disney was one of the best shows that ever aired on television. It was thrilling to watch the opening Theme Song as Tinker Bell flew over the Castle and wave her magic wand! Yet it came on at 6:00 pm on Sunday Night! This had to be one of the "wiles of the Devil" - probably the trickiest in all of history! Choosing between The Wonderful World of Disney and going to Sunday Night Worship was the greatest test of all! Oh how I wanted to skip church, especially when the they showed previews of what would be on the program that night. If only they would stop sending that BUS! I could blame missing church on someone else! But they didn't stop!
When Frankfort Road's bus pulled into the driveway, me and my sister, and sometimes my brother, would climb aboard. On the rare occasion that I chose Walt Disney over Jesus Christ, I felt the guilt wash over me as Tinker Bell flew over the castle! There was never an episode that was worth going through that!
In this age of DVRs, DVDs, and VODs - when you can have BOTH (your favorite T.V. show AND Worship on Sunday Night) what keeps folks away on Sunday Night now? Let's be like David when he said in Psalm 122:1 "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
